Night Life
We worked away the evening, but as dusk fell, we hopped back on the train. We wanted to see Athens in action at night. I suppose I had pictured a deathly quiet evening stroll a la Venice, but what we found was that the city wakes up late, even on a Tuesday night! We meandered around the Acropolis once again, taking photos by night and observing the religious ceremony taking place near the rock where Paul once preached.
Check out our recording of their singing!
In the evening light, scroungy modern Athens faded into the darkness and the ancient relics were brightly lit.
The streets were full of music and people out for dinner or a stroll. Soon, we arrived at the plaza where a live concert was taking place. The square was packed full of people. Athens is lovely by day, but really magical at night!
